"Retro Violet" vintage inspired purple wool felt hat. Blocked on a vintage wooden hat block using wool felt, antique birdcage veiling, and topped with a handmade ribbon flower with jeweled center. Sewn inside this hat is a purple grosgrain ribbon hatband.

I usually don't make many wool felt hats in the spring or summer, especially when it was 85° outside here in the Twin Cities yesterday, but I was on a mission to get this beauty done. It's been sitting off the block just waiting to be finished for almost 2 months.

She's a gorgeous shade of purple, inspired by my home state heroes Prince & the Minnesota Vikings, plus the colors of my favorite hockey team the Minnesota Frost. I've always said, "I bleed purple because I'm from Minnesota." I know it's going to be difficult to say goodbye to this beautiful hat. I put my heart into this one.
